Job Details

Communications Officer required by a leading international membership organisation based in the City of London. The post holder will assist the Director of Communications in providing membership and internal communications.

This is a full time, permanent role – salary circa £33,500 plus excellent benefits – hybrid working (i.e. office and home based working) – offices located in the City of London, within easy reach of 3 to 4 mainline / London Underground stations. Interviews asap.

Duties include:

  • Assist the Director of Communications in the implementation of the Communications Strategy across internal and membership channels
  • Work with Director of Communications to establish and manage communications support for strategically important projects and key events within the business plan and calendar
  • To lead on best practice for membership and internal channels with processes that ensure a consistency of messaging linking to all communications channels
  • To build relationships with key internal stakeholders across the central office, regional teams and nations to provide quality newsletter content.
  • Manage and create or source content for general internal communications channels, including intranet, supporting the head of human resources where necessary to ensure clear and consistent internal communications for business announcements
  • To work with Director of Communications to develop messaging for key policy and research reports and the communications components of other corporate projects and programmes across the Institute.
  • To lead on style, tone of voice, content and best practice for the suite of membership regional and national newsletters produced by the organisation.
  • To co-ordinate and lead communications activity across the nations and regions through regular virtual meetings
  • To contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of membership newsletters and internal channels to improve effectiveness
  • Consider the potential data protection implications before using or storing any personal data, referring to the Data Protection Policy or seeking advice as necessary.

Key requirements:

  • Experience of working within a membership and internal communications role.
  • Experience of managing a corporate intranet
  • Experience of using third party email systems such as dot digital
  • Experience with building relationships at all levels
  • Also CMS experience, Good understanding of platforms like Dotdigital / Dynamic 365marketing / SharePoint is desirable.
