Overview
As the Interim Digital Communication Manager, you will play a pivotal role within the organisation's communications and engagement team. Your primary responsibility is to oversee the digital communication and engagement strategies that connect with a vast audience, comprising over 115,000 healthcare professionals across the UK, external stakeholder organisations, and the general public. These strategies are instrumental in ensuring patient safety and building trust in the healthcare profession through effective and equitable regulation.
Interim Digital Communication Manager reporting Directly to the Associate Director, Communications & Engagement
This position is the most senior digital role in the organisation and is central to the communications and engagement team. Your role is multi-faceted and includes managing and delivering digital content for the organisation's website and social media platforms. You will also lead various digital improvement projects, maintain the day-to-day relationship with the external digital partner, and provide support to two engagement officers in the publication of digital content.
Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Oversee a prioritised pipeline of projects and tasks for digital communication products, collaborating with internal stakeholders to schedule and manage digital work as needed.
- External Partnership: Manage the relationship with the external digital partner, which includes commissioning work, overseeing continuous improvement, and setting priorities.
- Strategic Digital Guidance: Provide expert digital advice to ensure digital content aligns and integrates with communication and engagement plans across various media.
- Collaboration and Expertise: Collaborate closely with other Communication Managers and the policy team, offering expert advice on digital content development and delivery.
- Content Publication: Supervise the publication of content on the organisation's website and social media using Content Management Systems (CMS) and tools like Hootsuite.
- IT Collaboration: Work closely with the internal IT team to address website security and updates, coordinating with the external digital partner to agree on delivery schedules.
- Data Analysis and Monitoring: Analyse data and user behaviour on digital channels, using this information to develop content, measure digital channel performance, and enhance the user experience.
- Social Media Vigilance: Monitor social media to gather intelligence on broader issues that may affect the organisation.
Your Experience:The ideal candidate will possess:
- Website Management Expertise: Extensive experience in managing websites, with a deep understanding of user experience, journeys, accessibility, functionality, and design.
- Content Management Proficiency: Competence in using Content Management Systems (CMS) and developing online content.
- Collaboration Skills: Proven experience in working with communications and engagement experts to manage and refine digital communication channels and content.
- Agency Management Experience: Experience in managing external agencies and budget monitoring.
- Organisational Skills: Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage concurrent tasks within timelines and budgets.
- Interpersonal and Influencing Skills: Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with a collaborative and solution-focused approach.

- Desirable Experience: Previous or current experience working within a regulatory body is considered an advantage in this role.
