Job: GCSE English - Sessional Tutor

Location: West London

Work hours: 5 hours per week - Monday & Wednesday 6.30pm to 9pm

Pay rate: £31/hr PAYE, (umbrella options available)

Role Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced GCSE English Sessional Tutor to deliver engaging and effective lessons to adult learners. As a tutor, you will play a crucial role in helping our learners develop their language skills and achieve their academic qualifications. This position is ideal for a passionate educator who enjoys working within a diverse and dynamic environment.


Key Responsibilities:

- Deliver engaging and effective GCSE English lessons to adult learners.

- Prepare and plan lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.

- Assess learners' progress through assignments, tests, and feedback sessions.

- Provide individual support and guidance to help learners achieve their academic goals.

- Maintain accurate records of learners' attendance and progress.

- Contribute to the development of course materials and resources.

- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.


Essential Requirements:

- Qualified to degree level in English or a related subject.

- Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, CertEd, or equivalent).

- Experience teaching GCSE English, preferably to adult learners.

- Strong knowledge of the GCSE English curriculum and assessment requirements.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to motivate and engage learners from diverse backgrounds.

- Commitment to continuous professional development.


Desirable Attributes:

- Knowledge of adult learning principles and strategies.

- Familiarity with digital learning tools and platforms.
