ROLE OVERVIEW

As the Operations Manager for Damp and Mould/Leak Management, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of Damp and Mould Surveyors, Assistant Surveyors, and administrative staff. Your primary mission will be to ensure the efficient and effective management of the damp and mould repairs services, meeting and exceeding resident and stakeholder expectations.


Key Responsibilities:

Client management of the damp and mould repairs team, ensuring performance and customer satisfaction targets are met.

Ensure compliance with best practices and recognized standards in addressing damp and mould in residents’ homes.

Implement a performance framework to monitor contractors and drive service improvement.

Utilize financial parameters to monitor budgets and financial performance, taking corrective action as needed.

Build the council's reputation as a provider of high-quality, customer-focused repairs services.

Monitor and maintain targets for day-to-day repairs, focusing on quick turnaround times.

Foster a culture of sharing ideas, best practices, and technology within a commercial environment.

Ensure operating policies and procedures align with the council's objectives and customer expectations.

Recruit, manage, and develop staff within your team.

Collaborate closely with the Strategic Head of Housing Repairs to ensure seamless service delivery.

Lead the delivery of responsive damp and mould remedial repairs, coordinating surveyor and assistant surveyor teams.

Establish strong relationships with stakeholders, including strategic decision-makers.

Conduct risk assessments and ensure commercial management for successful project delivery.

Prioritize health and safety for residents and the workforce.

Represent the department internally and the council externally as required.

Attend regular housing management/contractor meetings and evening meetings as needed.

Be part of an on-call rota as required.

 

ABOUT YOU 

Qualifications and Skills:

Proven experience in operations management, preferably in a repairs service environment.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Knowledge of budget management and financial reporting.

Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Commitment to delivering high-quality customer service.

Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
